You’re Engaged! Now What?
Okay so you’re engaged. Now what? Don’t worry! I’m here to help! Here are some things to consider once you and your partner have decided to get married!!
- Enjoy it! This might seem obvious, but there’s no need to get caught up in the planning right away after getting engaged. This is a really special time in your life. Don’t forget to take time to enjoy it with your partner!
- Pick a date. It’s the next question everyone will ask, “When are you getting married now?!” Think about how long you will need to plan your day and how much time you might need to save to have the wedding you want.
- Make a budget. This isn’t the most fun part of engagement, but it’s definitely one of the most important! If you want to go all out, and you have the financial ability, you absolutely should! But, also know that you can plan a wedding for far less than you think and still make it a dreamy day!
- Pick your venue. Maybe you’ve thought about this for years now, or maybe you have no idea where to start. Picking your city is a good place to start. Then doing online research to see what’s located near your location and reading through experiences of other couples is important!
- Start a vendor list. It wouldn’t hurt to start a list of your dream vendors!
There are so many considerations when you are planning a wedding. My biggest advice is to enjoy that you’re engaged! Now what you need to focus on is enjoying this unique time in your life and working toward the wedding that will best celebrate the love you share. Don’t get caught up in everything being picture-perfect if you’re feeling pressured to do so. You’re marrying the love of your life! Enjoy it!
