There is nothing more flattering than being invited to a maternity shoot in someone’s home. An in-home maternity session might just be the best thing to add to your collection of photos. I’ve been lucky enough to shoot this family’s engagement and wedding, both of which had been in rain and snow! We can’t always control the elements, which is why a session in the comfort of your own home might be the right choice for you.

Their session used all the natural light, the prettiest dress, and the cutest family dog. Their pup joined in a few times to give momma some love. You could tell she was extra gentle sitting around mom, almost as if she was protecting her. We also used a beautiful antique piano as a backdrop for their maternity announcement sign, along with the first set of baby shoes they bought for their little one as part of their announcement. Mom wore this elegant floral maternity dress that I couldn’t get over and really complimented momma so well.

Using a home may sometimes seem like minimal space, but sometimes it can keep the memories extra close to home shooting in a place so special to you.
