Glamorous wedding touches surrounded by soulful vows and artful details played to a playlist of heartfelt songs – that is how this wedding day is framed in my mind. Chris and Meagan are two people who you look at and within 30 seconds go “Oh yes. Those two are something special.” It is just obvious in their sweet glances, and soft hand touches here and there to check in with the other. Their wedding day screamed them in the most elegant and fun way, which was so much fun for my creative soul to capture. And because the universe loves them, they had lovely outdoor weather for portraits and then after warming up inside… gigantic, fluffy, perfect-to-photograph snowflakes started to fall from the sky. I mean, exactly as they had hoped! Oh and if you are ever wondering what to serve at your wedding, brunch buffet. Bouquets of bacon are a must. Okay enough out of me… onto all the pretty!!
I mean everyone was alllll smiles alllll day – it was the best feeling to capture! Dreamy. First look twirls are a must. Maggie’s view…. My view… BABES!
Oh my heart. You two are wonderfully sweet together. Yes.Yes.Yes. Then it was time to head over to Bridgeport Art Center to get the festivities in order and watch these two share their vows! I mean….. come on. HEART EYE EMOJIS NEED TO BE AN OPTION ON HERE!! The vows were all laughs and tears and so much heart!! MARRRRRRRRIED! “There are FAT snowflakes outside you guys…. WE MUST GO NOW!” — and boy did they go for it! I mean this roooooooom – seriously, gorgeous!!
I mean honestly….. And now a few words from the newlyweds…
Would you have done anything differently?: We can’t think of anything we would have done differently. Well, maybe we should have had more chicken and waffles at the waffle bar… those were a hit.
Favorite moment from your day?: We loved our first look. We’re so happy that Laurie explained how special that could be. It was wonderful having a secret private moment together and really being in the moment of what our day was all about. Another extra special part of our day was having Meagan’s cousin officiate. Having someone so close to our hearts perform the ceremony made the whole moment perfect.
Any tips or tricks for future couples planning their weddings?: Plan your wedding exactly the way you want, and be unapologetic about it. Have breakfast for dinner if you love breakfast, serve drinks during the ceremony if you want whiskey flowing early, have the reception last 6 hours if you love dancing. It’s your day, Enjoy!
Brunch wedding…. like smartest thing ever. And most delicious. Meagan + Chris!!! Darlings, my oh my – you two are something special, and as a professional wedding photographer, I could not have been happier to be there to capture the amazingness that you created. From the morning details to the vows to the custom brunch menu and the songs used throughout your day – it was beautifully you two and it shined through so bright! We had too much fun photographing this day, thank you so much again for having us!! xo – Laurie
